The Adventure's Of Sean Lee

Chapter 2 Free To Leave

Months passed,  but then one day I knew this was the day that I was to escape, because the captain had a friend over, & he was going fishing, so that meant I would go along to help him. I got the dingy ready, I even managed to sneak my clothing on there too.
When we got  out  about a mile I said we could start fishing, because the fish were probably biting by now, the man, named Douglas G. Washington, immediately started fishing, while the other slave no bigger than 6 years old was not watching, neither was No name the slave about 30 yrs old so I shoved  Master George off, then Grabbed the musket. I pointed it at Master George & told him to swim to shore so he swam away. I turned and ask the little boy if he would sail with me or betray me & he said he would not, then I turned to the other slave bigger than I & asked the same of him, & he too said he would not.
We Sailed for days, & days, before seeing another ship. Finally we saw one, & we shouted & shouted, someone heard us because they sent a dingy out to get us, we tied our dingy to there’s & shouted ready. It seemed to take forever for them to pull us in.
When we were on the ship the captain gave us a little money for some of our goods, on the dingy. At supper we ate & discussed what we were going to do. I decided to ride with him until the next stop, then I will buy a ship & sail, The slave older than I decided to stay with him, & the one younger than I, whose name was Abia Agwe Methiodos, which means “Great Water Traveler,” decided to stay with me.
